General Description
The HLC12L1 is a 5-in-1 monolithic 12.5 Gbps DML laser driver and 12.5 Gbps limiting post amplifier combined together with a fully programmable microcontroller unit and non-volatile memory manufactured in an advanced CMOS process.
The HLC12L1 transmitter section includes an integrated digital mean power APC controller, adjustable Input equalisation and programmable output eye shaping control.
The HLC12L1 transmitter low power driver stage that targets DC-coupled laser applications.
The HLC12L1 receiver limiting amplifier section has high sensitivity supporting a wide range of ROSAs, together with digitally configurable input equalisation and output pre-emphasis to deliver optimum system performance.
Featuring an on-chip 8051 based microcontroller unit with code memory that is pre-programmed with embedded firmware. Including an autoranging ADC, the HLC12L1 integrates all major functions to implement a DDMI compliant SFP+ transceiver with no major additional external components.
The HLC12L1 operates from a +3.3V supply over an operating temperature range from -40°C to +95°C. The HLC12L1 is packaged in a compact 5mm x 5mm, 32 pin QFN package.
